Mary F. Buckley, JD is an Illinois-licensed attorney and health care compliance Associate with experience in a variety of state and federal health care regulatory matters.
Mary has experience engaging with academic medical centers to provide Medicare coverage analysis, clinical research billing compliance assessments, and clinical research revenue cycle support. She also works with health care providers to evaluate and update privacy and compliance policies. Mary advises on matters related to health information privacy and security, telemedicine reimbursement, health care fraud and abuse, health care payment, and state regulatory matters, including scopes of practice, supervision requirements, and other licensing rules.
Prior to joining the firm, Mary worked in the legal and compliance department of a suburban Chicago hospital, interned at a boutique health law firm, and conducted research on recent changes in health law for the 18th Annual Illinois Health Law Survey.
Mary received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2016 with a Certificate in Health Law and a Concentration in Health Care Compliance. In law school, Mary served as a Beazley Institute Health Law Fellow and a health law legal writing tutor. She was a member of both Loyola University Chicago Law Journal and Annals of Health Law, where she authored a published article entitled Clinical Integration: A Balancing Act. Mary also participated in the L. Edward Bryant, Jr. National Health Law Transactional Competition during her second and third years of law school, and in 2016, her team received recognition for the best memorandum and was named overall champion.
